8‐QUALITY ASSURANCE AND ACCURACY CONTROL The determined target in Uzmar Shipyard is not only maintaining the Quality Control but at the same time gaining the Quality Assurance. The main objective is enabling the all shipyard and production departments to control their own Quality Assurance Systems. The Quality Assurance Department will be responsible for these issues. The main responsibilities of this department will be establishing these Quality Systems and making it properly usable in accordance with the main functions of the yard. In addition this department will also be responsible for trainings such as quality and source management systems as well as NDT (Non‐destructive Tests) applications and 3‐D measurement services and keeping its records. Our parent company and main shareholder UZMAR Ltd. has accredited for ISO9001‐2000 certificate covering the shipbuilding process. Please note that our shipbuilding facilities were handled under the name of UZMAR Ltd. and the same structure is still valid with a change of title under the same organization. Many vessels have been delivered in compliance with the terms of ISO 9001‐2000. The shipyard itself will also be certified for the same systems in 2008. The certification process is under progress at present.
