1‐GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF UZMAR SHIPYARD

Uzmar Shipyard, having a 170 meter long pier and a floating dock of 5.000 tons lifting capacity, is located on 31.000 m2 area with 5.200 m2 closed shed at present and aimed to have a upgraded closed shed capacity of 13.000 m2 by theend of2008.The building capacity is 13‐14 tug boats per year. The steel work capacity is planned as 3.500 tons for 2008 and 7.000 tons per year in 2009 and thereafter. The shipyard is capable of producing blocks up to 120 tons in closed sheds having 160 tons crane lifting capacity in block erection area. The total number of personnel working in the yard is 450 including the sub‐contractors.
